Matt began as a professional musician at age eight, when he was invited to join the cathedral choir in Gloucester. During his time as a member, he performed almost every day of the year, toured the USA, Canada, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, starred in a BBC drama and recorded a number of releases. Although he didn’t realize it at the time, this set him up for a life of professional music.
